Dr V. V. Pyarelal spearheaded a quiet revolution that took the little-known KVM Trust from its humblest of beginnings in 1983 to one of the most trusted and asset-rich trusts that is now known nationally and internationally. Besides, the many philanthropic ventures the KVM Trust is known for, the Trust now manages world-class organizations/ institutions where Dr. Pyarelal is the director, including but not limited to, KVM Hospital; De-addiction Treatment-cum-Rehabilitation Centre; CP Centre; Childcare Centre; ‘SWARA’ (Speech & Hearing Diagnostic Centre); Female Health Worker Training School; Working Women’s Hostel; Travancore Mats & Matting Company; Extra Weave; Cocotuft; College Engineering & Information Technology; College of Nursing; College of Special Education; Institute of Paramedical Sciences; College of Pharmacy, all located at Cherthala, to name a few.
Dr. Pyarelal holds MBBS and DA. He was chosen the ‘best outgoing student of DA’ from Trivandrum Medical College. He was the First Resident Anaesthetist of Trivandrum Medical College; President of Indian Society of Anaesthesiologists Kerala Chapter; National Treasurer of Indian Society of Anaesthesiologists; Director Board Member of National Trust, New Delhi; President of Rotary Club of Cherthala, among other achievements. His focused and result-oriented approach to issues earned him several accolades. Perhaps his uncompromising zeal to quality and unending passion to work is the reason why he has scaled heights in his chosen fields. This septuagenarian believes he still has a lot to do to help the helpless, and help make a difference in the society.
